The IBMP hosted the 2012 plant microscopy workshop with support of Carl Zeiss Microscopy. The workshop was held April 23rd-25th in the Strasbourg-Esplanade Cellular Imaging Facility, located in the IBMP.

We took this occasion for a meeting of the plant microscopy group of the GDR2588 - Microscopie fonctionnelle du vivant.

We were also happy to welcome German colleagues participating together with the IBMP in the Trinational Institute for Plant Biology (TIP).

This meeting was following the successful 2011 Marine Biology workshop held at the Marine Station in Villefranche (BioDev laboratory, UMR7009) that was focused on imaging of marine specimens.

During the workshop several state of the art Zeiss imaging systems were available for hands-on testing including new generation confocal microscope (LSM780), spinning disc, fluorescence AxioZoom, TIRF or scanning electron microscope.

Thanks to Carl Zeiss for sponsoring this event, to the speakers for excellent talks, and to all participants who made this workshop a success.
